All Kids Thrive: New Focus on Birth to Age 8
All Kids Thrive is a new comprehensive approach to early childhood services that emerged from ROC the Future’s Kindergarten Readiness CAN. The vision outlined by the All Kids Thrive task force is to design and implement an integrated and universally accessible system of supports for children birth to age 8 and their families. It aims to improve care coordination and systems navigation across multiple child and family serving systems. It also promotes practices that integrate services between and within the health care, early education, education, and human services systems.
All Kids Thrive is also designed to implement a number of the recommendations outlined in the Medicaid First 1,000 Days Initiative and the New York State Board of Regents Early Childhood Blue Ribbon Committee. These recommendations include comprehensive developmental screenings, integrated education and health care data systems, expanded home visitation and family navigation services, and a number of other evidence based services for pregnant women and parents with young children.
