The Parent Engagement Collaborative Action Network (PECAN) is expanding its reach to parents in building authentic partnership. We’re working with the National Parent Leadership Institute, the national network for our local PLTI initiative, and with their alumni to develop a process that brings parents in as partners in our collective work. The engagement of parent leaders at the PECAN table has enhanced our ability to think more concretely about the ways parents engage, and what we need to do to support parent voice in our decision-making. This partnership will be extremely important to our current work, and what we will achieve in the future. Over the next several weeks, two additional parent information sessions will be held leading to the new direction of PECAN working with parents in all aspects of ROC the Future’s goal of improving outcomes.
