High School Graduation Improvement in Rochester, NY

High School Graduation

The purpose of ROC the Future Alliance’s High School Graduation Outcome Team (HSGOT) is to use evidence-based strategies to improve the ninth-grade experience, attendance, and high school graduation rates in all high schools across the city. These focus areas were chosen based on qualitative data examined by the team and the voices of parents and youth within the Rochester community.

HSGOT works collaboratively with students, families, the community and the city’s high school education service providers to engage in evidence-based strategies and progress monitor the impact of those strategies.

Ultimately, we envision every student’s post secondary experience to be positively influenced by an enhanced high school experience.

The HSGOT, led by co-chairs Shawanda Evans and Nicolle Haynes, meets monthly on Tuesday evenings via Zoom. To join us, email MaryBeth Elko at mbelko@rocthefuture.org.
