Staff Spotlight: Celebrating Women

On March 30th, in honor of Women’s History Month, Tanishia Johnson, Community and Family Engagement Manager and Founder/CEO of Beyond This Moment Life Coaching and Business Consulting, hosted the annual Beyond This Moment Conference, 2019 Theme: Authentic Sisterhood…let the healing begin!

Over 250 women attended a day filled with workshops centered on health, wellness, women’s empowerment, and healing. As part of the conference, 13 women were awarded in various categories connected to their service to the community. Brigit Hurley, Director of Advocacy at The Children’s Agenda was awarded the Social Justice Advocate of the Year Award for her work and advocacy for children and families for over two decades. Jessica Lewis, ROC the Future’s Communications Specialist, was acknowledged as the 2019 “I See You” Award recipient for her ongoing commitment to service in the Greater Rochester community.

ROC the Future Alliance Director, Jackie Campbell, co-facilitated a workshop titled “Intergenerational Sisterhood: The 4 R’s: Respect, Responsibility, Reciprocity and Resiliency” sharing on the importance of intergenerational mentoring relationships and the benefits for all women. Camille Simmons, ROC the Future’s Manager of Continuous Improvement, presented on the 3 Threads of Sisterhood: The Critical Foundation of Every Woman’s Growth throughout her Journey!

The 2nd Annual Beyond this Moment Conference, taking place March 28, 2020, will be in celebration of the culmination of the last 100 years of significant milestones by women.
